Many parts of the Middle East would be uninhabitable without dates. This is one of the few plants that grow in the desert. Dates have been described as the “tree of life.” Date Ariha – Athos – Ahmed Merhi – Thumb: Credit Askphoto.

In the video, the writing on the screen says the trees are planted 1.5 meters apart. That cannot be right as the trees look to be about 15 to 20 feet apart. Please can you tell me the correct spacing?”

Comment 2: Bee Bop said: “Used to like hunting for dates down in Florida. A lot of different kinds around. Some taste terrible but others are good. I especially liked one that I would find that tasted a lot like a pineapple.”

Comment 3: Achmad Sabiqi said: “Greetings from Kediri date farmers With the date palmization program in Kediri, I hope that Indonesia can export dates by 2025.”

Comment 4: Najeem M said: “PlantEx plant packing guidelines for shipping long distance: There are high chances of plant damage and die for long-distance shipping because of 4 reasons in the packing process:

1. There is a space between the soil level in the cup and the top cover. The soil will fall off while transiting.

2. The plant is completely covered with plastic and no option for air circulation as plants require a good amount of air.

3. Outside cardboard box fully covered the plant and no air from outside can enter hence the heat inside the box will be very high. The plant will be naturally steamed due to this reason.

4. No option to get light for the transit time.

The plant may not survive for more than 2 days. Leaves will fall due to humidity. Also, the plant may be uprooted due to space. Suggestions for sending plants for a long distance for 7-8 days:

1. Fill the space above the soil with water-holding material and paper bubbles.

2. Make air holes in plastic as well as cardboard.

3. One transparent window should be there in the cardboard box for light.

4. Utilize PlantEx service for shipping live plants. PlantEx will come to your home and pack your plants and take them for shipping. PlantEx will safely deliver your plants to the end customer. (Service is available in India and Malaysia now.)”
