Frequently Asked Questiᴏns

Q:  Everything you do is perfect but the only problem is you’re using dirty water to feed the Cauliflower.

A: I am Pumping river water.

Q: You’re very good! I’m considering growing cauliflower here. This is helpful. Thank you! Do you plant pollinators? When you buy a bag of manure, is it cured?

A: I don’t plant them, not because I don’t want to but because I naturally have many where I am. There is no standard for manure in Trinidad unfortunately so we have to figure out if it’s cured or not on our own.

If the manure feels warm to hot or has an offputting smell then it is not cured and if it is cool with very little smell then it is cured.

In general, when I buy manure I empty it from the bag and cover it with a tarp for at least 2 months before I use it but you don’t have to be this extreme. Thanks for watching!

Q: I’m so happy someone shares your video on Facebook. It’s good to learn from a fellow Trini. Can I use goat manure mixed with coconut coir?

A: Yes absolutely! You will know that the manure is well cured when there is barely any scent and it does not give off any heat.

In the video belᴏw, yᴏu cɑn see The Growing cauliflower like this, both have eaten & not pests.
