Comment 1: Misha Chevalier said: “Pretty cool. I did not consider building a trellis/arch for growing tomatoes. Note: I wouldn’t use zip ties on the plants. They can possibly be forgotten and then end up choking off that part of the plant. I suppose if bamboo stakes (as shown), weren’t available, I suppose one could use some discarded tent stakes (The kind that connects together with the elastic cord in the middle). There is also a handy cloth wire (softer and strong) that you can use instead of zip ties if you need something that won’t cut into the stalk, it’s a lifesaver. Don’t forget about proper sucker thinning to higher yields as well!”

That will build a much stronger root system. I also put some rock phosphate in the hole before planting.”
